We have four third grade classes at East Ridge Elementary.

Third grade students have several challenging and exciting events taking place during the 2006-07 school year. The challenge taking place refers to the math portion of the TAKS test. Through out teh year they will take several Benchmark tests to help them prepare for the TAKS test.
Third graders will learn facts about the sun, planets, and moon. They will also create a new planet and travel brochure. Sounds like an interesting galactic experience is waiting on the horizon! The Nolan County Cooperative Extension office and Nolan County Extension Program Council are sponsoring a "Just 4 Kids" program for all the third grade students in Nolan County. East Ridge students will attend and will be learning about topics such as cotton, wildlife, sheep and goats, wildflowers, nutrition, and water conservation. Later in the month of May, students will tour Sweetwater Intermediate School as they get ready to enter a new campus in August.

Parents are welcome to join us at all field trips.

12 #2 pencils
1 lare eraser or 1 package pencil top erasers
1 wooden ruler with inches and centimeters
1 box 24 or more count crayons(no markers)
1 red pen or pencil
1 package of 50 manila drawing paper
1 package assorted construction paper
3 pocket folders with pockets and brads: 1 blue, 1 red, 1 purple
2 large boxes of Kleenex
2 medium bottles of Elmer's glue(no glue sticks)
1 school box
1 apir Fiskars pointed scissors
1 spiral notebook (wide ruled)
1 box long map colors (no markers)
1 school bag or backpack identified with name (not a rolling back pack)
2 dry erase markers(any color)

With SIS in their sites, Eastridge Thrid Graders are really on the ball with what happens everyday. They are ready for each day and look at each one as one more day closer to SIS.
