The Sweetwater High School Industrial Arts Department first affiliated its TIASA (Texas Industrial Arts Student Association) club in 1982. We have continuously been affiliated with the state and national TSA since 1982. Since 1982 the department's name changed to Industrial Technology and later to Technology Education. TIASA also changed its name to reflect the changes in the technology education field. In May of 1987 TIASA became TSA, Technology Student Association.
Sweetwater technology students have competed at the regional and state levels even before the club was organized. Since the affiliation of our chapter, we have strived to improve leadership, competition, and eduation through club participation. Sweetwater TSA chapter 412 has attended leadership workshops and also competed in the Tarleton technology challenge, winning awards and scholarships.
In June of 2000, three of our members competed at the national TSA conference in Atlanta, Georgia. In June of 1999, two of our members also competed at the national TSA conference in Tulsa, Oklahoma. |
